“I’m a Girl 2” is a newsletter for girls 3-7 years old that celebrates “being a girl” - a girl in all its glory – by sharing a world that is colorful, fascinating, fabulous, sparkly, smart, athletic, fun, silly, and healthy. It is designed to inspire self confidence and playful exploration. It is something fun that you and the special young girl in your life can do together.

Hi! I am Samantha and this is my sister little G.—it is mom’s day this weekend. I love my mom. She is great. So mom, we are going to try to be good today. We are going to give you some “peace and quiet.” I understand the quiet part, not sure about the peace part. I think it means that my sister and I should try not to fight. We are going to try, although it might be hard.

We LOVE Our Mommy

Happy Mother’s Day. Today is a day to celebrate your mom, grandmother, step-mother and any “like a moms” you might have, for all that they do every day. So give them an extra hug, kiss, and smile. I am sure you will make their day.

Special Note: I’m a Girl 2 is taking the summer off. We hope you have a great summer. Look for us again in the fall.

Our Present to You, Mom

Some special coupons for us to spend some special time together doing things I love to do. So Stop! Stop folding the laundry. Put down the vacuum.  Turn off your cell phone. This is our time, now.

A Special Project: “Treasured Trash”

A special thanks for Anne and Sarah for doing this craft at Community Day and allowing me to help.

 

What you need: glue gun, white glue, scissors, all kinds of scraps and recyclable items—items to build with e.g. shoe boxes, toilet paper rolls; and items to adorn with e.g. sparkly jewels, pencil erasers, pony tail holders, fabric

1. Collect items to build and adorn with. Keep in a bag until you are ready to use.

2. Lay all items out and talk about what you want to build.

3. Begin with creating the structure. Glue gun different pieces together and let dry.

4. Adorn your creation with all of your special objects.

5. Have a great time playing with your masterpiece once dry.
